The contest is now closed!

Thanks so much to all of you who sent in your wonderful Sanibel Island vacation photos! We have thoroughly enjoyed each and every photo we received! We originally planned on having the voting period open from August 1 to August 14, but we've received so many photos that we're going to take an additional couple of days to choose our Top 10. We will still open up voting for two weeks - so get your friends and family ready to vote for YOUR photo if you make our top 10.

 

Contest is open from May 1 to July 31, 2010.

Voting for the Top 10 Finalists will be held from August 1 to August 14, 2010. (We are delaying the voting for just a couple of days so we'll have time to pick the best Top 10 from all our submissions)

The WINNERS will be announced on August 16, 2010

 

Grand Prize is a 5-night FREE stay (From August 16, 2010 to January 30, 2011 excluding holidays. Subject to availability.) in a 1 bedroom unit in the Marina, Poolside, or Bayside area. The winner will also receive 1/2-day use of a kayak and a 1/2-day use of 2 bicycles.*

 

2nd Prize is a 2-night FREE stay at The Castaways with the same restrictions as the Grand Prize. This also includes 1/2 day kayak and bicycle use.*

CONTEST RULES

The Castaways photo contest is open to current and former guests only. Submit your best Sanibel vacation photo and you'll be entered in our contest. We'll select the Top 10 best photos and post them online to our website. We'll then open it up to voting from our website visitors and the photo with the most votes wins.

The photo with the most votes will give one lucky winner our Grand Prize 5 Night Getaway.

Grand Prize:

The Basic Rules:

Contest is open ONLY to current and former guests of The Castaways.

Pictures must depict something you saw or experienced on Sanibel Island during your stay at The Castaways and be in good taste.

Each person must be at least 18 years of age and may submit no more than one photo.

No purchase necessary.

Only ONE submission per person please.

Castways staff will choose the top 10 photos to become finalists.

Finalists' photos will be posted to the Castaways webpage for voting.

Voting:

August 1, 2010 to August 14, 2010

Finalists photos will be placed on The Castways website during this 14-day period for voting by website visitors.

The voting will be limited to one vote per IP address.

The photo with the most votes wins the Grand Prize.

Winner to be announced August 15, 2010

Eligibility for all contests:

Open to all previous guests of The Castaways Beach & Bay Cottages on Sanibel Island, Florida, who are 18 years of age or over. Employees, Contractors or Sub-contractors of The Castaways and their families are not eligible to win. Winners will be notified by email.

Only ONE submission per person please.

How to enter The Castaways Beach & Bay Cottages photo contest:

You must send a digital photograph to The Castaways via our online entry form ONLY! You must include your name, phone number, mailing address, date you stayed at The Castaways and the name of the photo by the contest deadline. Emailed photos and hard copy photos will not be accepted.

The Castaways Beach & Bay Cottages photo contest process:

Castaways staff and management will select the top 10 finalists after the posted deadline for the contest. Voters will then have the chance to visit The Castaways webpage and vote for their favorite photo from the top 10 finalists. The photo with the most votes will be declared the winner. The photo with the second highest number of votes will receive the first runner up prize.

You may not exchange the prize for a cash settlement.

The Castaways retains the right of sole discretion over the selection of, and decision not to select, any particular entry as the winner.

Decisions of judges are final and binding.

Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

The Castaways Beach & Bay Cottages photo contest rules:

There is an entry limit of one photo from each person, per contest.

Photos that you submit must be your own work and you must own the rights to distribute the image.

You must have the consent of those whose faces are visible in the image. If your photo is selected for publication you will be required to provide a release form for each individual in your photograph.

By entering the contest you authorize The Castaways and its authorized marketing partners to use that image in our offline and online marketing materials in perpetuity without any fee or other form of compensation. Photos will be credited whenever possible.

You will retain ownership and all other rights to your image.

By entering the contest the participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Castaways from any issues, losses, or actions emanating from or in relation to this photo contest. This would include any losses or issues related to third party claims of copyright infringement or violations of personal privacy.

By participating in the contest you agree to the terms of these rules.
